#2 | LEVERAGING NDCS TO TRANSITION AWAY FROM FOSSIL FUELS AND PROTECT BIODIVERSITY

Beyond driving climate catastrophe, fossil fuel extraction exposes producing countries to transition risks and threatens over 800 protected areas worldwide. This event explores how UNFCCC Parties can use Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to support the transition away from fossil fuels, with multiple benefits for people and planet.

This official side event is being hosted in partnership with Instituto de Energia e Meio Ambiente (IEMA), Leave It in the Ground Initiative (LINGO), Natural Resources Governance Institute (NRGI) and Public Advocacy Initiatives for Rights and Values in India (PAIRVI)​.
